#14? ROGER That!

Guess who just did a victory dance around the coffee table? Not Robin Soderling, that’s for sure! I am so happy ‘cause no matter how much I’ve been wrapped up with Michael Emerson and Alan Rickman, Federer is still on top of the Must Love List. It has always been Federer.
I am speechless, but I need to, you know, SAY SOMETHING! For one thing, I definitely don’t feel bad about my haircut anymore. I had a bob, people. A bob! With bangs!
Anyway,
If you know me well enough, you’d know how jumpy and giddy I am right now. Celebration is called for because Roger Federer just won the 2009 French Open. He won in straight sets! Championship point was (almost) an ACE! He is finally holding the Coupe des Mousquetaire (Ah! The trophy’s not gonna get bitten this year!). It was handed to him by Andrei! McEnroe did an interview. There was a streaker and after he was escorted out, Roger just looked at his wife and adjusted his band! Eva Longoria-Parker did not steal the show! Then, the rain poured down.
What a day!

I feel another Laureus trophy coming! (Nah, I think it’s gonna go to Button or some basketball player. Or Nadal)He got his 14th Grand Slam title in Roland Garros! The very Grand Slam tournament that had eluded him for the past 3 years. It’s a sweet, sweet victory. Dude, for once, I am not even mad at Mirka.
I mean, Federer beat the guy who ousted Rafael Nadal. Hahaha! I know, that’s not relevant, but whatever, I’m happy.
Early birthday present for me! (Well, actually, I’d like a black FRIENDS-like mug and/or the DVDs that I have been looking for. Hahaha!)
Many people will say that he had it easy; that he won because Rafael Nadal wasn’t his opponent. It wasn’t Roger’s fault that Nadal did not play his best tennis during the 1st week of the French Open. The Roger fault that he’ll have is if he lose, but he didn’t.Roger Federer deserved this win. It He had easy wins (A. Martin, G. Monfils), he dropped sets (J. Acasuso, P-H. Mathieu) and he survived five-set thrillers (T. Haas, JM del Potro).
One thing left to do, reclaim the #1 ranking. Haven’t you heard? Rafael Nadal might not be able to defend his Wimbledon title. He’s got knee injury.
Have I mentioned I’m happy? And that Roger Federer won?
Wait for Jessica Zafra’s blog about this.
