The BDay Song

For the record, I chose the song. It wasn’t a random decision made by my MP3 player.

Footloose by Kenny Loggins.

My name’s not Marie, but I’ll shake it, shake it for, uhm, Mr. Loggins!

There was a list, you see, but I felt like “Footloose” is the right one. It’s just a fun and very danceable song. Besides, nothing beats the old ones because they bring back the old time. And that, my dear friends, was David Pomeranz.

The runner-ups were:
The Zephyr Song by Red Hot Chili Peppers. It was ruined by its video. It was too kinky.
It’s Getting Better by Mama Cass Elliot. Too slow. No room for dancing.
Jaded by Aerosmith. I could hold a hairbrush and pretend it’s a mic and do some rock-and-roll moves, but I couldn’t dance to it. Besides, not everything I see is a blur and Ecstasy is NOT what I prefer.
Hella Good by No Doubt. It’s nice, too, and it urges me to keep on dancing, but it’s too loud.
When It Was Me by Paula DeAnda. See, the fangirl in me can be reasonable. When I thought of this song, fangirl in me said, “Hoy, akala mo ikaw si Andie McPhee? Wake up, dude, wala kang Pacey Witter at Joey Potter sa buhay mo.” Thanks, fangirl in me.

Movies opening today: “The Coffin”, “Mother of Tears”, and “Echelon”. Yuck. Those are some serious ugly. These are the movies coming out today? Insulting.

I think I’ll go to G4 and watch “The Loss of a Teardrop Diamond” instead. I don’t know what it’s about, but I’m pretty sure it’s better than those three.

Or maybe I’ll just watch “Pride & Prejudice” (2005) again.
