Weekend Update [A]
I owe two people some updates since they shared their, uhm, experiences back then and in case you want to know how my week went, feel free to read this entry as well.
---
My birthday was great, by the way. My brother was away, but he called so I felt better. He (not my brother) didn’t text me and I’m actually fine with it. Really. I ate a lot and I will still eat a lot. I bought my favorite Naked Juice bar drink. I looked at display of shoes and almost bought one. Nicole! I’m starting to like shoes! I can’t believe it either! It’s so surreal. I gushed over humongous cutouts of the “Potter” trio. I got really creative with Joan’s gift and I loved the card attached to it. I went home early and spent the day with my nephew. So, I guess when I say “great” it means “normal” and “uneventful”.
---
I saw Abdul today. He still looks like a person. I think he’s enjoying law school except the beadle part.
---
Oh, high school. The nostalgia is making me nauseous. It was overwhelming and delightful at the same time.
I think that out of all the things that I witnessed inside the classrooms this week, the one that got me the most was the election of class officers. It opened floodgates of memories. It’s the kind of memories that reminds you that popular kids always win. Never in my high school life was I elected as a class officer. Well, there was that time were I was elected as Socio-Liturgico Commissioner (*snort*), but I think that was just my campaign to meet Amadeo Alveyra or something.
The transferring of seats also drew out some buried memories.
Why are boys allowed to wear black socks already?
Why are the boys separated from the girls? I think that was my main shock. I’m assigned to the 4th year level, 3 sections. 2 sections are all-boys and the other one is an all-girls section. If I’m not mistaken, the boys have their own building and the girls have their own as well.
I had 14 hours of observation this week. 14 hours of the same topic. It’s not pretty. Omu already handled a class! And checked some papers! Other than handling my Cooperating Teacher’s (CT) visual materials, I was just in the sideline. Well, I was asked if I was to consider a particular answer written by a student in her paper and the looks that I got from the students when I said “no” was just very welcoming.
My CT handles the school newspaper. I can attend their staff meetings. I’m actually excited about that part.
I saw boy scouts and girl scouts this morning. I don’t know why I find that weird.
It took us three days to find the school canteen. Well, it took us three days to not be afraid to explore. There are just four of us. We hardly see each other, but when we do we click our cameras away and the chatting never stops. I think we have a friendly ghost in our “faculty room”.
Of course, being the Book Sniffer that I am, I checked the school’s library. They have “Potter” books! Oh, joy! I saw an Umbertco Eco book and what seems to be the entire Animorphs series and if I’m not mistaken a copy of “Angus, Thongs, and Full-Frontal Snogging”.
I can’t write anything anymore. Sorry. Jensen Ackles calls. I wasn’t kidding about that Dean Winchester-Dexter Morgan-Benjamin Linus-Walter Bishop show, people. Can someone make that happen?
